weardrobe conference day 2

Day 2- The weardrobe conference brought a lot of firsts for me. First time in New York. First time being in a city painted with skyscrapers. First time going anywhere for fashion. First time going anywhere for me. First time being surrounded in a room full style. First time taking a taxi. And first time taking a subway...

eat records
The subway took us to our breakki spot. A place called Eat Records. We went there to meet fred flare(a groovy boutique), and indulge in tasty treats. The whole atmosphere was calm, peaceful, and eclectic.

After a delicious meal, we went to the local fredflare store. That entire boutique was a dream! Full of camera's, journals, sunglasses, necklaces. I've always been an accessory girl, and that place was a toy store for me. They also sent the friendly reminder to "stay cute!"

beacon's closet/fleamarket
After fred flare, came beacon's closet. If your ever in New York, take a step in. It's a beautiful vintage thrift store. Full of dresses, colors, boots, and hats. The sun shone so brightly, as if the gates of thrift store heaven opened up for me. The prices were well too. After spending $21 on shoes, and a floral dress, we headed to the loveliest little flea market.(look at the welcome sign!)

The best part of the day came next. Pacsun sent weardrobe a collection of jeans, with one thought in mind, DIY. I have messy hands, could never sew, can't paint within the lines,.. So when weardrobe screamed "DIY" I screamed "Oh no!" .....

That "oh no" quickly turned into "let's play!".. and soon, I was holding a light wash pair of jeans.

After shredding , and studding my jeans, Cutie little Sara emptied a bag full of buttons. The table became button and studding galore. I happily found a daisy button, and thought to take it home and sew it on the back pocket. Within the last minute, I poked some safety pins under the studs. These jeans are skinny, and comfortable. Two words I never thought I'd use in the same sentence. Thank you to pacsun, la la la love you.

The night ended with a meal and drinks at the Fat Hippo. After bonding, and cupcakes(thanks to keiko(keiko lynn), I took a taxi home with Sara(style magnet), Arabelle(fashion pirates), and Tavi(style rookie). We all had "our moment"
I miss and love you girls.

hello my lovely little birds!@!! It's been months since I've consistently posted. I apologize. My summer has been busy. I recently traveled to New York City with Rich, Suz, and Jess from weardrobe.com, along with other beautiful fashion bloggers. I've been delighted and blessed. Inviting me to New York has brought to me the deepest thankfulness, and love for my life. I feel lucky. I cannot thank weardrobe enough or pick enough flowers in memory of their sweetness and warming ways. Also, my deepest love is sent to all the other fashion bloggers, you made New York shine even brighter than it already did :)

Day 1.
With all the butterflies I was feeling, you'd think my stomach was a garden. I woke up in the Gramercy Hotel, and looked to see the red velvet curtains. I pulled them back to look through the window. My eyes were amazed by sky scrapers, flowers, and trees. I never expected the busy streets of NYC to look like such a garden. My mom and brother were fortunate to stay in the penthouse, a few doors down from Rich, Suz, and Jess's suite. Being a shy girl who rarely strays from her comfort zone, I felt scared to knock on the door of 1704 and say "hello I'm Amy!" But I did it! Suz, Jess, and Rich all looked so vibrant, and real. They greeted me with such kindness and adoration. Soon after, more girls started to head to the penthouse suite. It was surreal to meet beautiful, young, eccentric women who shared a love for fashion, and a love for blogging. After introductions, eye glances, and smiles, we met with photographer Eddie Newton. We juggled through the streets, snapping photo's, running around in high heels...
