about me

Yours truly, I'm Amy.
Snowflakes fell on December 13 1992, and I was born a winter baby. Time has been caught by the wind, and 19 years have sailed by.  Now, I am an art-thirsty girl caught by my dreams.
 ----------------------------------------------------------------
I have always adored the exploration of art. Art in the form of language, music, pictures, paintings, fashion. I believe our bodies are a blank canvas, and the hues are the garments we wear. Now I've created a blog where I can share daily language, poetry, musings, and photographs. I created flying a kite in January 2009. Since then, I have gained so much spirit and so much love!
In September 2009, I was invited to New York for a fashion blogger conference. It was the most exceptional thing I've ever been a part of.     Also, To my delight(and surprise) I've been featured in magazines, fashion blogs, and wonderful online communities.

This blog has cultivated so many friendships, opportunities, and open windows
My heart sings for my supporters, my family, and my spirit.
Thank you.

"Where do you live? I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

"What kind of camera do you use?"    Nikon D90, my baby!

"Who's your photographer?"  The main photographer for flying a kite is the lovely Carter.  He is a twenty two year old guitar pickin' gentlemen. Sometimes, my sweet Mother takes my photographs. All photographs not of me are captured by myself / unless otherwise noted.

Describe your morning routine. I awake with the blush of the morning sun. Brush my teeth. Chew bubblegum, bathe in hot water, apply eye liner + lipstick, spend 1 hour rummaging through closets, find something to wear, brew coffee, eat all the fruit or granola I can find, talk politics and philosophy with my mom, pluck my banjo, sometimes I'll write a poem..or two.

"How old are you? What are you taking for school?"    I'm 19 as of December 13.  I'm home schooled and finishing my high school studies.

"How do you like homeschooling?"   Homeschooling has it's bads, and it's delights. It's goods; no alarm clocks, I can pick and choose tasks, I can lay in my pajamas, I can chew gum as loud as I want, I can curse, I can laugh, no peers can bother me.  It's bads; no alarm clocks, I can pick and choose tasks, I'm lazy, there's more exams than public school, I have to teach myself, I have to create my own schedule. I'd rather write poetry, watch crops from airplane windows, or hum tunes.

What do you believe in?  Poetry, music, animals, and living for the moon and sun.

"What’s your favorite kind of music?"   Bluegrass, banjos.  And old country-folk songs.

"Do you have a sister?" I have one older brother. His name is Sam. He's tall.

"Where do you go for thrifting and how do you find such beautiful clothes?"  Notably, value village, and goodwill. I rummage through heaps of garments. I toss everything I can grasp into my cart. I pay no attention to size, only color or design. Luckily, my souls cultivated to be patient, or I'd hate thrift store shopping. It requires much desire to find the perfect dress, skirt, pants, etc.   The ingredients of patience, desire, and ignorance(towards annoying shoppers who get into your way...).. will bring you beautiful garments, I guarantee.

"Where do you shop that isn't a thrift store?" Forever 21, H&M, Zara, The Bay, China Town, online Korean boutiques, Local Boutiques

"What's your favorite color?" Purple

What instruments do you play Mostly my banjo, and I was recently gifted an auto harp

What made you learn the banjo? I've always fawned over Mountain music. The twangy and irresistible charm of a banjo called my ears, and now I'm happy to pluck the moon shaped machine.

"Who are your favorite poets/writers?" Walt Whitman, W. Somerset Maugham, Haruki Murakami, Margaret Atwood, Sylvia Plath, so many to name.
