Calgary Folk Music Festival 2013

It is that time of year again . . . The Calgary folk fest begins on Thursday.

I'll be there with grass stains on my feet, following those who know the music in my heart and dancing with my favorite people.  Every year I go to listen to the music and I always leave having found more than new songs to sing.

Are you going to any music festivals this year?

That sounds amazing, I hope you have a wonderful time! I've actually never been to a music festival, but I am dying to go. Many of my closest friends are in bands and spend lots of time and money on seeing concerts, and I would love to start saving up to do the same!

Music festivals, you say? Will I be at any? Absolutely! I just got back from a small bluegrass gathering. My ears are still ringing with banjos, and my soul is happy. Good times! I hope to find many people that feel that way this year. It reminds me of the pacman 30th anniversary

The Calgary Folk Music Festival has such a strong sense of place, and this post captures that anticipation before the performances begin. The mix of music, outdoor atmosphere, and community is what makes festival memories last.

  19. What a lovely reminder of folk fest magic — that mix of familiar songs and dancing with the people you love is exactly what keeps me going back too. I always come home with so many phone clips that I stitch them into short little videos afterward, just to relive the feeling. For anyone turning shaky festival footage into shareable memories, I have been having fun with video upscaler free to clean up those dusty old concert clips.

  29. That grass-stained-dancing feeling is exactly what folk fest is about - your excitement for 2013 makes me wish I had been there! Festival nights deserve to be kept close. I still replay my own clips every summer and convert them with MOV to MP3 so I can carry those songs on the road.

Hi Amy, your love for the Calgary Folk Music Festival is so warm and contagious. Reading about dancing with grass-stained feet beside your favourite people brought back sweet memories of my own festival nights. I captured some of those magical moments in a little edit with Bernini Video and it always takes me back to those joyful evenings.
