miracles like white dogwood,

I am not bound to the garden- or the trail- or the mud bed. I belong to the earth- and all it's shadows, sun spots, spheres, and celestial bringing.  This weekend brought Thanksgiving.  bread stuffing, ham, peas, potatoes, and whiskey.   I sat with the kins of my blood, and my heart. The kitchen bred happy spells, and our bellies were fed with wellness.   These moments of family are not to be escaped, or embellished. Sweet as wine are the toes of family stroking the same carpet.

October brings cider, lemon colored leaves, and the scents of firewood. I am spending my Autumn, with the window beards open, wool sweaters buttoned, and kettles for steaming.   With every new sunset, and songs from the dirt pile, with every tree nestle, and dying white petal. There is a hidden prize.   The philosophers, and the poets tell us.   Nature is time, and time is a miracle folded in our arms.  We are shiny, walking stones.  We are breathing, wild things, we are beasts of the field, and denizens of the sea.   As the leaves tumble upon the railway, and the dusty clover,  As the air becomes goose bumps, and the frost kills the minerals,  we are warned, we are called to, we are reminded.
We are animated. We are teething, licking, and laughing. We are awake.
I've lived to breath another October.

Thanksgiving, Autumn, and hopeful chests.
On Sunday,  we licked our boots, and drank whiskey in my favorite tavern, The Ironwood.  The Ironwood is located in my favorite neighborhood of the city, Inglewood.  It is here where drinks meet lips, and folk strings meet feet kicks.  On this day, country rambler Jack Marks changed my ways.  His music soothes, and sets fire.  If you can, listen to "Before The Flood"... It will change you.
I spent the night, in love, and in laughter.
