nothing staid, nothing settled, in this universe,

“Nothing could be slow enough, nothing lasts too long. No pleasure could equal, she thought, straightening the chairs, pushing in one book on the shelf, this having done with the triumphs of youth, lost herself in the process of living, to find it with a shock of delight, as the sun rose, as the day sank. Many a time had she gone, at Barton when they were all talking, to look at the sky; seen it between peoples shoulders at dinner; seen it in London when she could not sleep. She walked to the window.” - Virginia Woolf*
With my feet on the leaf crunch,  and two leg elbows kissed by the breeze,  I am aware. When the pine's turn into soft wood, and the dandelions die, we are reminded of the beauty.  The beauty in the breath of our bellies.  Would there be Summers, or poetry in cabins, or wool sweater stretches, or fire smoked eyes, if we never heard the Autumn bird's song?

As quickly as winds form,  my feelings do change.  I want to record my wishes as they mold, my dreams as they dangle, and my sorrows as they spew.    Today, I feel rested, cold in the bones, but sprightly.  Tomorrow, the sun may form, and I may change.

Have you ever wandered into the woods?  It's not for the lily-livered or those who are spooked by shadows. It's for the courageous or the lonely.   Sometimes, I wish I could live between the trees, dining on the splendor of sap. whispering to the flowering plant. becoming one with the dogwood.

I want to travel the wind, like a honey locust leaf. I want to envelope pebbles into my hand. I want to lick rain drippings from the Cedar.    Each time the wind howls, I hear my invitation.  I am being called into the forests, and for my family, I must decline.  If I could live in the woods, with plants for my feeding, and critters for companions, I might, but I would probably miss hand holding, and pumpkin pie.

If I dined, howled, and slept below the trees of the forest, I would miss so many things.  I wouldn't know the feeling of such gracious gifts, such as anniversary rings, and boxes with bows from my sponsors.  I was happily sent this custom made diamond anniversary ring from sweet people. The color is purple, like the dahlia's of the spring garden.  When the sun soars, the anniversary ring sings in the light.  Sometimes, while wearing the jewel encrusted circle, I imagine I've been courted by a cowboy, or a guitar-bent swain, or a gentleman of flowers.

If I lived in the woodland, surrounded by cedar, and muddy trails, I would miss this.
jewels, and cowboys. hot soap, and perfume. songwriters, and singing.

I think I'll attach my self to the cotton bed, and nap below rain clouds.
Kisses, and be well !

You look so beautiful. And right now, I'd love to live out in the woods. No one to argue with.
I suppose it would get lonely after a while.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, dearie, it made me smile. :)

I love the paisley pattern on your dress...paisley has always evoked a sense of mystery and sadness in me, for whatever reason. It kind of makes me nostalgic.
