wild beneath the mountain pine,

Hello June 13th, it's been weeks since I last visited.  Big hugs and Thank you's to all the typing bodies who pressed fingers into comments for my last post.  Every follower of flying a kite causes me to wonder. You dazzle my eye lines, and render them rosy.    My belly beats for the wit, wisdom, and sweet nature of every breath I've taken through this blog.        If I could bring you postings, and words every single day, I surely would.     Sometimes, the song of reality keeps me from singing my own song.

With good fortune, this weeks reality mingled with my dreaming mind....

By Thursday's dawn,  I found my body attached to the seat belts of travel, and the electricity of road maps. Me and my Peach for a Mother, took our bodies through the mountain peak, beside the endless forest,  passed the crackling rivers.

We traveled through Alberta, into British Columbia, a place where my cousins rest on hammocks, and stretch on sailboats.     This is a common trek we take. Ever since my paws were too small to hold door ways, and too young to know anything but wonder,  we've traveled this same road.  Every time we've bended our wheels through these mountains, we've watched them rise, and fall, from behind our car windows.  This journey was different...

We sat starry eyed, by the sun cluster, and watched spitting waterfalls form our window frame. The wood of the mountain was calling our bellies for picnic, and the scent of the pine was calling our noses.  We found ourselves, with such stillness, in a deep cavern, as if we had found the center of the earth.   By picnic tables, with carved names,  Me and Ma snacked on brownies and roast beef sandwiches.

We promised each other, we'd pause, and leave our seat belts, to fill our heads with mountain air.   Most often, we attach our bosoms to leather seats, and tie ourselves to safety belts. Too often, We travel from point A, to point B, watching the world as a movie.

The picnic in the cavern wasn't our only place of rest.  We kissed the lips of foliage, and pressed our toes into rock piles. We paused to dream beside courting mountains, lakes of different hues, and singing wild flowers.  We sipped strawberry milkshakes, and shared toast. We laughed until our bellies hurt, we smiled until our teeth ached, we became one with these mountains.

While driving past rugged waters, and ghostly cliffs,  I spotted one beaver, one goat, and one elk.  My reasons for skipping heart beats through these wild roads extend far beyond the dirt, the mountains, and the landscape.  These roads bring bears, mountain cats, preying birds, and exotic animals.  When I was young, I stopped to visit a grizzly.  Till this day, I've never seen another Grizzly....

Sometimes, when we take this journey, we see nothing but earth. Sometimes, I'm glad the bears aren't so brave, and stay hidden beneath pine trees.  I would be filled by guilt, and grumbling, if a grizzly dared to be hit by a traveler.

The mountain air fueled my body with hope, happiness, and dreaming. Now, I can return to my homestead, with a new heart, and a wiser head.  The mountain brings medicine when we munch on it.   I have many more photographs of these travels, and I will share with you soon.   Now, it's back to brain boggling, as I have my most important school exam tomorrow. Fingers crossed.    Love to all. x

The tree is more than first a seed, then a stem, then a living trunk, and then dead timber.  The tree is a slow, enduring force straining to win the sky.  ~Antoine de Saint-Exupér
It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.  ~Robert Louis Stevenson

“The heights charm us, but the steps do not; with the mountain in our view we love to walk the plains.
